Smart Spending
Make every purchase strengthen tomorrow’s account.
The strongest purchases keep providing value long after you buy them. Start with permanent research and building capacity, then secure heroes and invest deliberately in the squads you will use.
The goal is not to buy everything. The goal is to make every purchase count.
Best early value
- Second Laboratory
- Additional Builders
- Hero Battle Passes
- ApocaAid Monthly Pass
Second Laboratory first. Additional builders and valuable heroes follow closely. Short-term packs come after your permanent foundation.
Buy lasting value before short-lived convenience.
Best First Purchases
Focus first on purchases that continue helping your account every day.
Second Laboratory
★★★★★
The Second Laboratory is the highest-value purchase in Last Z, especially early. A second active research queue creates value day after day throughout the life of your account.
SIN Command take: If you make only one major early purchase, make it the Second Laboratory. Keep both research queues running.
Additional Builders
★★★★★
One or two additional builders offer a similarly powerful, permanent improvement to construction throughput. Each extra queue matters most when you can keep it supplied and active.
SIN Command take: Aim for at least one extra builder; a second additional builder is a strong next step for active accounts.
Hero Battle Passes
★★★★★
Hero unlocks are an extremely high-value investment. Strong seasonal heroes can contribute for months, and they remain valuable whether or not you purchase their Exclusive Equipment.
SIN Command take: Prioritize heroes you plan to field; decide on Exclusive Equipment as a separate investment.
Hero Code & ApocaAid
★★★★☆
Hero Code and the ApocaAid Monthly Pass reward consistent activity. They usually provide much better long-term value than buying random one-time materials.
SIN Command take: Compare the total cost and your claim rate against the next permanent upgrade or hero unlock.
What Your Money Buys
One-time unlocks, heroes, passes and event packs should not be ranked as though they deliver the same kind of value.
One-time account unlocks
Second Laboratory and extra builder queues have lasting value. Buying them earlier creates more time to benefit from them. Keep the queues working so their value is realized.
Permanent hero unlocks
Hero Battle Passes and other hero unlocks add lasting strategic options. Unique or Exclusive Equipment can improve a hero further, but an unlocked, usable hero already has substantial value.
Recurring passes
Hero Code and ApocaAid can deliver good rewards over time, especially when you log in and claim consistently. Evaluate the full recurring cost before committing.
Limited-time packs
Event packs, materials and speedups make sense when they complete an important upgrade or milestone. They should not automatically outrank permanent purchases.
A Practical Spending Order
Permanent account growth first, then lasting heroes and focused upgrades. Move down this list when the step above is already covered.
Secure permanent research
Buy the Second Laboratory as early as your budget allows. Its value compounds for as long as you keep both research queues active.
Expand your building capacity
Add at least one extra builder; consider a second additional builder when you can keep it working. Extra queues help most when you use them.
Secure long-term heroes
Prioritize seasonal hero unlocks and useful Battle Passes for heroes who will remain part of your long-term plans. A hero can be valuable even without their Exclusive Equipment.
Develop the right heroes
Add Exclusive Equipment, fragments, and targeted hero improvements to your primary squads rather than spreading purchases across everyone.
Use recurring and event offers selectively
Only after the permanent foundation is in place, choose passes and packs that solve an identifiable bottleneck and fit your budget.
Spending Strategies by Budget
There is no required spending level. Choose the path that fits your budget and how consistently you play.
Occasional spender
Buy infrequently and make each purchase count.
Start with the Second Laboratory. Next, purchase an extra builder when useful. Choose key seasonal hero unlocks deliberately; skip routine packs and recurring charges you won't fully use.
Monthly-budget spender
Set a fixed monthly cap and protect room for hero releases.
After the Lab and one or two extra builders, fund the heroes you intend to use long-term. Compare Hero Code or ApocaAid against upcoming seasonal passes before committing to subscriptions.
Competitive spender
Build strong, focused teams without neglecting the account economy.
Secure the permanent queues and priority heroes, then invest in Exclusive Equipment and scarce hero materials for your main squad. Use event packs only when they advance a specific target.
High-budget spender
Spend against bottlenecks, not every available offer.
Complete the permanent foundation, maintain depth in your primary heroes and core squads, and fund late-game progression deliberately. Check diminishing returns even when the budget is flexible.
Plan the full month, not just today's purchase.
Set a spending ceiling before opening the shop. Count recurring subscriptions and seasonal passes inside it, and reserve part of the budget for upcoming heroes. If several small offers exceed your plan, they are not small purchases anymore.
Invest in Heroes You Intend to Keep
Hero unlocks belong near the top of the spending plan—even when you are not buying their unique equipment.
Unlock the right heroes
Seasonal heroes and Hero Battle Passes can provide lasting roster value. Build around a planned primary formation and consider future releases before buying every available hero.
Important: Exclusive Equipment is not a prerequisite for a hero to be useful. Evaluate that upgrade separately.
Deepen your primary squad
Once your main heroes are established, prioritize fragments, Exclusive Equipment, and scarce upgrade materials for the heroes you actually deploy. Concentrated investments generally do more than small purchases scattered across every squad.
How to Judge Recurring and Event Offers
A discount label is not a spending strategy. Evaluate purchases against your next meaningful account goal.
An account unlock or useful hero has lasting value; temporary resources and speedups disappear when used.
Favor a pack that finishes a specific research, hero or upgrade objective over miscellaneous materials.
Compare the actual included items and quantities, not the banner's claimed percentage or a random-chance jackpot.
For a recurring or seasonal pass, count only the rewards you can realistically claim.
Preserve budget for important upcoming unlocks rather than spending it simply because a sale is ending.
Match purchases to event rules.
Some events reward recharging, while others reward using items or completing upgrades. Verify which action actually scores before timing a purchase. Buy because the contents have value; treat event points as an additional benefit.
Low-Value Purchases & Common Traps
Good spending habits
- Buy the Second Laboratory early and actively use both queues.
- Unlock one or two extra builders when you can keep them working.
- Secure valuable seasonal heroes for your long-term formation.
- Set a clear monthly budget, including recurring passes.
- Choose purchases for lasting account strength, not the countdown clock.
Common spending mistakes
- Buying basic resource packs that ordinary play can supply.
- Paying for instant timer completion instead of lasting productivity.
- Buying every limited-time offer simply because it is available.
- Spreading hero purchases too thinly across unused squads.
- Buying Exclusive Equipment without a clear plan for that hero.
- Stacking subscriptions without collecting their full rewards.
Six Questions Before Every Purchase
If the item cannot justify its cost against the next permanent unlock or important hero, it can usually wait.
Ask yourself:
- What does this purchase help me accomplish?
- Will it still benefit my account next month?
- Does it improve permanent progression or unlock a hero I will use?
- Is the upgrade for my main hero or squad?
- Could I earn these materials normally?
- Is there a more valuable upcoming hero, pass or permanent upgrade?
If you cannot clearly explain why you are buying something, wait. Another offer will come.
Build your account first. Then build your power.
The Second Laboratory is the strongest early investment. Extra builders create similarly lasting advantages, and valuable heroes can strengthen your account for seasons to come. Buy those foundations first; then spend selectively to develop the power you actually use.
