Resources & Steel
Gather consistently. Keep savings protected. Spend against a plan.
Account growth eventually becomes a resource-management problem. The goal is not to keep the biggest number sitting in your resource bar. It is to build a protected reserve, keep ordinary income flowing, and turn resources into meaningful progression at the right time.
Know What Each Resource Is For
Different resources become bottlenecks at different stages of account growth.
Food
Used for: Troop training, healing, construction, and many upgrades.
Common sources: Gathering, daily tasks, events, rallies, alliance rewards, and inventory packs.
Wood
Used for: Construction, research, Headquarters progression, and prerequisites.
Common sources: Gathering, daily tasks, events, alliance rewards, and inventory packs.
Electricity
Used for: Used across account progression and higher-level upgrades.
Common sources: Gathering, tasks, events, production, and inventory rewards.
Zent
Used for: Used in many mid- and late-game building and research costs.
Common sources: Tasks, events, gathering/rewards, and inventory packs.
Steel
Used for: A late-game bottleneck for Headquarters growth and advanced progression.
Common sources: Tyrant, bounties, Steel nodes, events, milestones, and limited rewards.
Diamonds
Used for: Flexible currency for selected progression, stores, and event value.
Common sources: Events, tasks, codes, chests, and milestone rewards.
Boxed RSS and Visible RSS Are Not the Same Thing
The safest resource is usually the resource you have not opened yet.
Keep packs unopened
Inventory RSS packs and Level Chests are safest while they remain unopened. Do not turn protected inventory into an exposed resource balance before you need it.
Open only what you need
When you are ready to build, research, train, or heal, replenish only the amount required for that expense.
Know your protected amount
Warehouses protect a limited amount of visible RSS. Anything above your protection can become lootable during an attack.
Leave little exposed
After a major purchase, check your visible balances again. Avoid leaving a large loose reserve sitting at the HQ.
Stored in inventory until you choose to replenish them.
Visible resources can become lootable when they exceed your protected amount.
Know Your Visible-Resource Safety Limit
Warehouses help protect loose RSS, but they do not make an exposed balance invisible.
Place every available Warehouse
Each Warehouse contributes protection. Missing an available Warehouse lowers the amount of visible RSS your account can safely hold.
Level them deliberately
Higher-level Warehouses increase protection and become more valuable as upgrade costs grow.
Protection is combined
Use the total protection shown by your own account. Building levels, research, and progression can change the amount.
Protection is not a shield
Warehouse protection reduces what can be looted; it does not prevent troop losses, hospital pressure, or repeated attacks.
Visible balance minus protection = potential exposure.
If you have 80M of a visible resource and your account protects 50M of that resource, roughly 30M sits above the protection line. Use the protection numbers shown by your own account.
During Enemy Buster, State Ruler, war, or unexpected hostility, Warehouse protection is only one layer of defense. A shield can also prevent troop losses, Hospital pressure, and repeated attacks.
Use Ordinary Income for Ordinary Expenses
Preserve your protected reserve by making repeatable sources carry as much of the routine load as possible.
Use every idle march
An unused march produces nothing. Send spare formations to gather whenever they are not needed for rallies, combat, or timed objectives.
Gather before long breaks
Before sleep, work, or any extended time offline, place as many marches as practical on resource nodes.
Choose efficient nodes
Higher-level nodes generally reduce how often you need to restart marches and improve the return on your attention.
Reduce travel time
Gather near your Headquarters or alliance territory when practical so less march time is spent traveling.
Use gathering bonuses
Gathering heroes, alliance technology, territory bonuses, and temporary buffs can improve the return from the same amount of time.
Build a Reserve Without Putting It on Display
Large Headquarters, prerequisite, research, and troop costs are easier when saving is a routine.
Choose the target
Identify the exact HQ, prerequisite building, research, troop tier, or major expense you are saving toward.
Check the full cost
Include prerequisite buildings and other required upgrades. Saving only for the final button can leave you short.
Build the reserve in inventory
Let unopened packs and Level Chests accumulate. Treat them like a protected savings account.
Cover routine costs normally
Use gathering, rallies, daily rewards, events, alliance rewards, and production for ordinary expenses whenever practical.
Open at purchase time
When the target and timing are ready, replenish only the amount required and begin the upgrade promptly.
Rebuild the reserve
After the purchase, return to saving instead of starting a string of unrelated upgrades.
Treat Steel as a Planned Progression Currency
Steel becomes increasingly important later and is slower to replace than ordinary RSS.
Tyrant
Regular alliance participation can become one of the most dependable recurring sources of Steel.
Bounty missions
Complete and refresh bounties consistently, especially when Steel rewards are available.
Steel nodes
When Steel gathering becomes available and Steel is your bottleneck, dedicate idle marches to it.
Events & milestones
Check milestone chests, exchange shops, seasonal rewards, and event stores before spending currencies elsewhere.
Long-term saving
Steel becomes expensive quickly. Know the next major requirement before using the balance on side upgrades.
Know the next Steel requirement before spending the current balance.
When Steel is your bottleneck, prioritize recurring sources and avoid diverting it into side upgrades that do not advance the next major Headquarters, research, or seasonal objective.
Resource Buildings Are Support, Not the Entire Economy
Passive production helps, but it should support progression rather than compete with it.
Upgrade when it supports progression
- Meet Headquarters prerequisites.
- Unlock meaningful production or system requirements.
- Use short upgrades when they fit a scoring or queue plan.
Avoid over-prioritizing production
- Do not tie up builders while critical Headquarters requirements wait.
- Do not assume passive production can replace gathering and event income.
- Do not spend more upgrading production than the building will return in a useful timeframe.
Keep the Economy Moving
Small repeatable actions create a more stable account than occasional emergency farming.
- Collect daily tasks, alliance gifts, Radar rewards, and event milestones.
- Use idle marches for gathering.
- Check bounties, trucks, rallies, bosses, and event shops for resource or Steel value.
- Keep major resource packs closed until they are needed.
- Review current and upcoming scoring before starting a large upgrade or research project.
- Keep builders, research, and troop queues working when practical.
- Check Hospital room before combat so resources are not consumed fixing avoidable losses.
- Confirm the upgrade supports your active goal.
- Check whether the action can score in an active event.
- Verify prerequisites and the full resource cost.
- Open only the packs required.
- Leave enough flexibility for healing, research, or unexpected needs.
Do Not Create Your Own Shortage
Most resource problems come from exposure, poor timing, idle capacity, or unfocused spending.
Opening every RSS box
This turns protected inventory into a large visible balance without creating any additional value.
Saving loose RSS above protection
A large number on the resource bar may feel like progress, but excess visible RSS can make your HQ a target.
Ignoring Warehouses
Warehouse levels directly affect how much visible RSS you can safely hold.
Leaving marches idle
Long idle periods are missed gathering opportunities, especially overnight or during work/school hours.
Buying unrelated upgrades
Small side upgrades can quietly consume the reserve intended for HQ, research, or another major target.
Replenishing too early
Opening packs days before an upgrade creates risk without giving you a benefit.
Over-prioritizing passive production
Resource buildings help, but they should not delay more meaningful progression simply for small passive gains.
Spending Steel without a target
Steel is slower to replace than basic RSS. Side spending can delay late-game Headquarters or research progression.
Using premium currency to replace routine RSS
Do not spend Diamonds to solve a shortage that gathering, events, or ordinary play could have prevented.
Ask Four Questions Before Spending
A short pause can keep routine spending from delaying the goal that actually matters.
Is this the right goal?
Will the spend advance Headquarters, purposeful research, your main formation, troop progression, or another clearly defined priority?
Is this the right time?
Can the same spend score in Alliance Duel, Full Preparedness, a seasonal event, or another active objective?
Is this resource replaceable?
Basic RSS can often be gathered. Steel and premium currencies deserve more caution.
Am I opening too much?
Use only what is required and leave the remainder protected in inventory.
Keep savings boxed. Keep marches working. Spend against the next goal.
Resource discipline is less about hoarding and more about making sure the resources you earn are still available when the upgrade that matters is ready.
