Free-to-Play
Build smarter.. stay patient.. and let efficiency compound.
F2P players will never keep up by matching spenders move for move. The real advantage comes from patience, planning, and using resources only when they create the most long-term value.
That means saving speedups for the right days, focusing on permanent progression, and letting every decision move your account toward a clear goal.
F2P is not about growing the fastest.. it is about wasting the least.
The F2P Mindset
Your strength comes from efficient decisions over time.. not from chasing every temporary advantage.
Think long-term
Measure progress in weeks and months.. not hours. Short-term patience usually creates stronger long-term results.
Prioritize permanent value
Headquarters growth, research, strong heroes, and event timing usually matter more than temporary power spikes.
Use resources on purpose
Do not spend simply because you can. Every speedup, item, and diamond should support a clear goal.
Compete with your own growth
You do not need to match every spender. You need to build a more efficient account than you had yesterday.
Let Your Priorities Change as Your Account Grows
F2P efficiency is not one fixed checklist. The best use of your time and materials changes as new systems unlock.
Early game
Keep Headquarters, Laboratory, troop camps, and essential requirements moving. Join an active alliance immediately and avoid tying builders up on low-impact upgrades.
Mid game
Commit to one main faction and one five-hero formation. Push troop quality, purposeful research, and the systems that shorten future construction and research.
Late game
Protect rare materials, improve orange equipment evenly, strengthen passive account bonuses, and save major upgrades for overlapping event rewards.
Your Alliance Matters More Than Almost Anything
What a strong alliance gives you
- Alliance Help to reduce construction and research times
- Alliance Technology bonuses and shop currency
- Better event rewards from VS, rallies, and alliance activities
- Better rally participation and more efficient growth
- Experienced players who can help you avoid mistakes
If your alliance is inactive, misses events, or struggles to coordinate.. do not be afraid to move to a better one.
Headquarters Should Drive Your Growth
Many newer players upgrade everything evenly. That feels safe.. but it usually wastes time and resources.
Push Headquarters
Treat your Headquarters as the center of your progression.
Meet requirements only
Upgrade other buildings mainly when they are required for the next HQ level or unlock something meaningful.
Avoid unnecessary upgrades
If a building does not improve long-term growth or help you reach the next HQ.. it can often wait.
Resource Management
Efficient resource management is one of the biggest differences between a strong F2P account and a wasteful one.
Keep resource items closed
Whenever possible, leave resource packs unopened and open them only when you immediately need them. Closed items cannot be stolen if your city is attacked.
Gather constantly
Try to keep gathering marches active while you are offline. Daily gathering adds up to a massive amount of resources over time.
Spend with purpose
Do not upgrade or train just because you have the resources. Tie spending to long-term account goals or event scoring windows.
Treat diamonds carefully
Diamonds are too valuable to spend impulsively. Save them for meaningful progression or event value.. not random convenience purchases.
Protect your hospital capacity
A larger Hospital gives you more room for mistakes and reduces the risk of permanent troop loss during attacks and combat events.
Open tokens at the last responsible moment
Resource items are safest while they remain in inventory. Open only what the next upgrade, research, or event action actually requires.
Concentrate Power Before Expanding
One of the easiest ways to waste materials is by trying to build every hero, faction, and troop type at once.
Build one main formation first
- Choose one faction and develop five heroes that work together.
- Match the faction to its troop type: Blood Rose with Assaulters, Wings of Dawn with Shooters, or Guard of Order with Riders.
- Put your best equipment and skill investment into the heroes you actually deploy.
- Use secondary heroes for passive account benefits until your core formation is established.
- Do not ignore heroes whose construction, research, gathering, or roster-wide bonuses continue working outside your main march.
Expand only after the core is stable
- Do not level every newly unlocked hero immediately.
- Avoid splitting fragments and skill books across several unfinished formations.
- Replace a core hero only when the new hero creates a clear long-term improvement.
- Keep valuable passive heroes working even when they leave the active formation.
Give Every Diamond a Job
Diamonds are one of the few flexible currencies available to every player. That flexibility makes them easy to waste.
Extra event attempts or guaranteed progression when the reward clearly exceeds the cost.
Limited items that permanently strengthen your main formation or unlock meaningful account growth.
VIP progression, queue support, or convenience only when it solves a real bottleneck.
Random refreshes, impulse purchases, and small time-savers that do not create lasting value.
Develop the Systems That Work Every Day
F2P growth accelerates when multiple permanent bonuses support the same goal.
One main faction
Build one five-hero faction formation first so hero skills and faction bonuses work together.
One main troop type
Research, hero investment, and equipment become more efficient when they support the same formation.
High-value Refugees
Diplomat, Butler, Scientist, Officer, and Nurse provide account-wide benefits that compound every day.
Research with a purpose
Prioritize growth, troop capacity, HP, and the research required for your next major account goal.
Refugees are long-term progression tools
Prioritize Refugees that improve Alliance Help, construction, research, troop capacity, and healing. Small passive bonuses become meaningful because they apply repeatedly across months of play.
Do the right things consistently
A good F2P routine is not about spending every item every day.
Do every day
- Keep builders and research moving.
- Use Gas efficiently every day.
- Complete Radar Missions and collect Refugees.
- Donate to Alliance Technology.
- Gather with idle marches.
- Join rallies and alliance events.
Usually save for VS
- Building, research, training, and healing speedups
- Large resource spending
- Hero growth materials
- Mass troop training
Do not spend valuable items simply because they are available. Timing matters.
Make Events Work for You
Events are where F2P players gain the most ground.
Save first
Enter events with speedups, resources, and upgrade plans already prepared.
Stack rewards
Whenever possible, complete one action that pays you in more than one place.. such as VS plus another event.
Spend during scoring
Construction, research, troop training, and hero growth become much more valuable when they also score points.
Avoid random usage
Using valuable items outside event windows usually lowers their value.
Choose Events That Pay Back Your Preparation
F2P players gain ground by targeting repeatable rewards and stacking the same action across multiple scoring systems.
Full Preparedness
Complete the daily rounds and line major actions up with the correct rotation whenever possible.
Alliance Duel
Save the correct materials for each VS day so one action can reward both you and your alliance.
Alliance PvE
Tyrant and Zombie Siege offer reliable progression materials when your alliance participates consistently.
Battlefield Events
Canyon Clash and similar events can provide valuable shop currency without requiring account spending.
State Ruler
Treat State vs. State as a long-term savings target rather than an excuse to empty every inventory at once.
Good Habits vs Common Mistakes
Good F2P habits
- Join the strongest alliance you realistically can.
- Push Headquarters with purpose.
- Save speedups and big spending for VS days.
- Keep builders, research, and gathering active.
- Focus hero investment on a small core group.
- Use Gas, Radar, and Refugees consistently.
Common F2P mistakes
- Upgrading every building evenly.
- Opening all resource packs early.
- Using speedups randomly.
- Spreading materials across too many heroes.
- Ignoring alliance events and rally opportunities.
- Spending diamonds impulsively.
- Leaving construction, research, or training queues idle for long periods.
- Neglecting Hospital capacity until a major loss exposes the problem.
Ask Five Questions Before a Major Spend
A short pause can prevent weeks of rebuilding resources.
Does this unlock my next Headquarters level or an important system?
Prioritize account access and permanent systems.
Will this strengthen the formation I actually use?
Concentrated strength creates more value than scattered power.
Can this action score in more than one event?
Stacking event rewards multiplies the same action.
Is this resource difficult to replace?
Rare currencies deserve stricter standards than common RSS.
Will waiting create more value than spending now?
Patience is often the strongest F2P resource.
Play consistently. Save intelligently. Spend resources when they create the most value.. not the soonest.
F2P success is built on consistency and discipline. You do not need to outspend anyone. You need to waste less, plan better, and keep making decisions that continue paying you back over time.
